At ESP, we believe that successful research comes from different perspectives, including women and other members of groups that are underrepresented in robotics. We reflect this belief by recruiting diverse candidates and hiring the best to join a research group that is inclusive and supportive of all its members.
We are always excited to hear from passionate and motivated individuals interested in working with us on autonomous and/or mobile robotics. So if that sounds like you, please get in touch.

Undergraduate students
ESP accepts undergraduate students wanting to do research projects in robotics. These positions are primarily offered to Queen's students through the Summer Work Experience Program (SWEP) or NSERC's Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRAs). More details on SWEP and associated deadlines are available on the SWEP webpage. More details about USRAs will be made available by each program at Queen's in the winter. Please fill out our interest form if you would like to express your interest or discuss potential research projects. Direct emails unfortunately cannot be answered.
Graduate students
ESP accepts master's and doctoral graduate students in robotics who are interested in developing and extending our understanding of robotics. Perspective students must apply to a specific program through the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (M.A.Sc. or Ph.D.) and specify Prof. Jonathan Gammell as their potential supervisor. Please fill out our interest form if you would like to express your interest or discuss potential research projects. Direct emails unfortunately cannot be answered.
Visiting students
ESP hosts undergraduate and graduate students studying robotics visiting from Canada and around the world. Interested students generally should have their own funding. Please fill out our interest form if you would like to express your interest or discuss potential research projects. Direct emails unfortunately cannot be answered.
Postdoctoral researchers
ESP does not currently have any funded positions for postdoctoral research associates. Please fill out our interest form if you are applying to a specific postdoctoral funding opportunity and would like to discuss holding it at ESP and potential research projects. Direct emails unfortunately cannot be answered.
